Background

Why your community is on Shyfted

We all know it’s hard to find locum coverage before we go on mat leave, vacation or take any time off. It’s a problem we’ve been facing for years.

That’s why NNPBC is bringing a solution to NPs in B.C. to help find locums more easily and connect with each other for mutual support.

General purpose for using Shyfted

Shyfted is being used by nurse practitioners in B.C. to post locum opportunities, search openings and connect with each other.

Who’s in this app

• PCN Nurse Practitioners with full or provisional license who are qualified and available to work as locums
• Health Authority NPs with approval from their leadership team
• NP students who are graduating within the next 6 months.

NP PIP Admin contact

• April Pena-Arguello is your point of contact from the NP Provincial Initiatives team.
• Her role is to ensure NPs who’ve joined Shyfted are those who are eligible to access Shyfted as a resource for locum coverage. She can also answer any questions you have about whether you’re eligible to use Shyfted, how best to use the app, and general guidance on finding a locum or being a locum.
